Cape Town - Griquas have announced the signing of 11 new players.
The Kimberley-based union have lured seven new backline players and four forwards ahead of the 2019 season.
The backline players are Anthony Volmink (Lions), Grant Hermanus, Michal Hasnar, Eduan Keyter (all WP), Keanu Vers (EP), Tinus de Beer (Blue Bulls) and Chris Smit (Maties).
The forwards include Victor Sekekete (Bulls), Cody Basson (Griffons), Johan Momsen (Maties) and Khwezi Mona (Southern Kings).
Five of the players - De Beer, Haznar, Smit, Momsen and Mona - are expected to arrive in Kimberley in April, after concluding their obligations with their current teams.
Griquas also announced that centre Edwin Sass, who had a short stint with them in the Currie Cup last year, has been handed a contract extension. He previously played for Boland.
Griquas head coach Brent Janse van Rensburg commented:
"A warm welcome to the players who have already arrived with us. We trust they will enjoy their stay here and add the required value in creating competition for positions within our squad.
"We also look forward to welcoming the players who are busy finishing off their commitments with their current teams. A lot of work lies ahead for us all, but we are making steady progress. We are on the right path and must just remain focused on process," said Janse van Rensburg.
