Cape Town - Former Springbok prop CJ van der Linde will not take up the post of forwards coach at Griquas‚ a role he was due to start on January 7, 2019.
Van der Linde‚ who has been consulting at Allister Coetzee’s Canon Eagles in Japan of late, has now been offered a full-time post at the club.
“It is with regret that the Griquas Rugby Union announces that we will be parting ways with our recently appointed forwards coach CJ van der Linde‚” Griquas CEO Arni van Rooyen said.
According to the Business Day website, Van der Linde will assist head coach Brent Janse van Rensburg before departing the union.
Janse van Rensburg further added that they will not be rushing into appointing anyone in Van der Linde’s place.
Van der Linde played 75 Tests for the Springboks, including the 2007 Rugby World Cup final in Paris against England, which the Boks memorably won 15-6.
