Cape Town - The South Africa Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed that Angola have cancelled their international friendly against Bafana Bafana.
Stuart Baxter's charges touched down in Egypt from Dubai on Tuesday morning eagerly looking forward to their clash against the Angolans.
However, the southern African side opted out of the fixture due to lack of training despite arriving in Cairo, Egypt two days ago.
"Angola has cancelled today's practice match with Bafana Bafana citing lack of training as the reason. Angola says they have not had any training since arriving in Egypt two days ago," the official Bafana Bafana Twitter account revealed.
The fixture against Angola would have been South Africa's second 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) warm-up match after they played out to a goalless draw against Ghana in Dubai on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Bafana get their AFCON tournament started against the Ivory Coast on Monday, June 24 in Cairo before playing at the same venue on Friday, June 28 against Namibia.
They then round off their group stage matches with a clash against Morocco on Monday, July 1.
