WATCH: Jacob Zuma puts his hand up for Bafana call-up!

Cape Town - Former President Jacob Zuma is taking to Twitter like a duck to water, and he has already used the platform to ask for a Bafana Bafana call-up.

Zuma joined Twitter last week and has already notched up 120 000 followers.

On Monday, he posted a video to his timeline that showed him playing soccer with a group of young children.

"Someone tell Stuart Baxter I’m match fit," he wrote.

Zuma has always been a fan of the beautiful game and he was known to play during his time imprisoned on Robben Island.

If the video footage is anything to go by, the controversial former President knows his way around the pitch.

He first takes a dip at goal and, according to the reaction of the kids that follows, looks to find the back of the net.

Then, near the end of the video, Zuma tries to dance his way through some of the tacklers and is a little less convincing.

Maybe stick to the basics there, JZ!
