Arsenal's Emery set sights on Charlton midfielder

Cape Town - Arsenal are targeting a move for Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo as Unai Emery looks to bring in three new players this summer.

Emery needs to add reinforcements to his squad when the transfer window re-opens in the summer but will have to do it on a budget as cash is tight at the Emirates Stadium.

The Spaniard will have to be shrewd with his dealings and senses the capture of 22-year-old Aribo could turn out to be a bargain deal for the club.

Aribo is due to fall out of contract at the end of the season and because of his age, Arsenal will only have to pay the League One club a small compensation fee to get him on board.

Gunners scouts have been regular attenders at Charlton games this season and Aribo has caught the eye with his goalscoring displays from the Addicks midfield.

With Aaron Ramsey heading for the exit door after agreeing to join Juventus, midfield is an area that needs strengthening and Aribo could be one of two players to arrive in that position.
