Gunners keen on Lazio keeper Strakosha

Cape Town - Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha as they look to sign a replacement for the recently-retired Petr Cech.

The Gunners are in need of a new goalkeeper after Cech hung up his gloves at the end of the season, while David Ospina is expected to complete a permanent move to Napoli this summer.

Boss Unai Emery needs quality cover for Bernd Leno and reports are rife suggesting he could try and lure Strakosha away from the Serie A side this summer.

Doing so could be easier said than done as the youngster has established himself as Lazio's number one when making 122 appearance for the Biancocelesti over the last three seasons.

The Rome outfit finished a disappointing ninth in Serie A last season, but the 24-year-old still caught the eye when keeping 13 clean sheets, and the Gunners are keen to sign him.

Despite being keen to keep hold of the player, reports in the Gazzetta dello Sport claim that an offer in the region of £22 million could persuade them to cash in.

Reports in the Italian publication also claim that Tottenham are interested.
