Kenedy does not expect Newcastle stay

Cape Town - On-loan Newcastle United winger Kenedy has hinted he will not be remaining at St James' Park beyond the end of the season.

The Brazilian had an immediate impact on Tyneside after originally joining on loan from Chelsea during the second half of last season after he scored two goals and provided two assists to help the Magpies retain their Premier League status.

That was enough to convince Rafael Benitez to re-sign Kenedy on a season-long loan last summer.

However, the 23-year-old has struggled during his second stint with the club, seemingly never being able to recover from a missed penalty that capped a disappointing display against Cardiff in August.

It appears Newcastle will not be looking to make a permanent move for Kenedy on the expiration of his loan deal, with the former Brazil youth international suggesting as much in a social media post, where he also indicated that the campaign, on a personal level, has been a let-down.

“You learn more in failure than you will ever learn in success,” Kenedy posted on Instagram.

Reports have suggested Kenedy's partner and new-born child have remained in west London this season, which may have contributed to his struggles.

It is unclear whether he will return to Chelsea's first team, with just over 12 months left to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
