Pardew: West Brom must keep fighting

Cape Town - West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew has urged his players to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and fight for Premier League survival with everything they have.

The Baggies find themselves at the bottom of the standings with only 20 points from 31 league games. They are a staggering 10 points from safety and have a mountain to climb in their last seven fixtures to try and avoid relegation.

When asked if his players were feeling sorry for themselves, Pardew said, as quoted by Express & Star: “I do (think that). Being an ex-player I’ve experienced some of the issues. I think they’re suffering.

“Sometimes I think there are one or two players who need to come out and have a rest and regroup themselves – I think there is always a time for that in a football club.

“But there is also a time when players can look within themselves and say, ‘right I’m going to get my finger out’.

“I think there are a couple of players where that needs to happen.”

Pardew's charges have lost seven consecutive Premier League games and have managed only one win in their last 29 top-flight fixtures.
