Real rekindle interest in Chelsea star Hazard

Cape Town - Chelsea are determined to retain the services of star player Eden Hazard after reportedly turning down an initial bid from Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid.

Hazard is currently in his seventh season with the Blues and continues to be the club’s best player having netted 16 goals from 39 appearances in all competitions.

That takes his tally to 105 while with the Stamford Bridge club, and it is obvious just what he means to the west London outfit and their fans.

However, the Belgium international has stalled over signing a new deal and will fall out of contract in the summer of 2020.

He has expressed an interest in playing for Real in the past and Los Blancos are known to be keen, with a report from the Daily Record suggesting that the La Liga giants have already failed with one bid to lure him away in the off-season.

Chelsea will not want to risk losing the former Lille ace for nothing, however, and it seems likely that he will depart for the Bernabeu for a sizeable fee at the end of the season.
