Tipsters: Tough on Toon at Anfield!

Cape Town – Leaders Liverpool will comfortably retain their 100% record in the English Premiership by seeing off labouring Newcastle at Anfield on Saturday.

That is the confident expectation of the entire Sport24 forecasting panel.

After all, the Reds won last season’s corresponding clash 4-0 despite the Toon still having respected Rafa Benitez – who has managed both, of course -- on board then.

Each round of the 2019/20 campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results – do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton, and defending champion), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Baden Gillion and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct score-line, and one for right result.

Yes! Siya will only be 36 at the next World Cup. He can make it!

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
