Ajax seal first win under Ertugral

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town came out firing in the second-half to earn a crucial three points with a 3-1 win over Platinum Stars at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday night.

The Urban Warriors dominated the second stanza and found their scoring boots in spectacular style as they recorded a first win in three games since Muhsin Ertugral's arrival.

The Cape side enjoyed the better of the early exchanges but did not pose a threat in front of goal and only had a shot by Fagrie Lakay, saved by Dino Visser in the 25th minute, to show for their efforts.

Ajax keeper Brandon Petersen was called into action a minute later and did very well to keep out Vuyo Mere's pile-driver.

After Tendai Ndoro had come close to opening the scoring for the Urban Warriors in the 36th minute, Dikwena went ahead at the other end of the field four minutes later when Zama Rambuwane headed in Mere's cross for a goal on debut.

The hosts took control of proceedings as they came storming back in the second-half looking for an equaliser.

And after Ndoro's bicycle kick had been kept out by Visser, Ajax had their equaliser when Tercious Malepe netted from close range for his first goal for the club.

Tashrique Morris crashed the ball into the net from close range seven minutes from time to put the hosts in front for the first time.

New signing Ndoro wrapped up victory when his shot in added time flew in off the underside of the bar to seal a big win for the struggling Cape outfit.
