Amakhosi snub club awards

Cape Town - Sowetan giants Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly not made plans to host a club awards ceremony following their disappointing 2018/19 season.

Amakhosi ended their Absa Premiership campaign with a ninth-place finish and suffered an embarrassing 1-0 defeat against TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup final.

Orlando Pirates loanee Zakhele Lepasa was the star for the second tier team as his late penalty handed the silverware to the Rockets.

Prior to their defeat to the National First Division outfit, plans were in place for a ceremony however this appears to have changed after the shock loss to Dan Malesela's side.

The Glamour Boys endured one of the worst seasons in their history as a final day defeat to Chippa United in the Premiership meant they also finished outside of the MTN8 places.

As such, while nothing has yet been made public by Amakhosi officials - it seems that a ceremony to award any decent performers at the club will not go ahead.

Chiefs players returned to Naturena on Tuesday for medical testing but since appear to have headed home for their off-season holidays.
