Anthony Laffor rules out loan exit from Sundowns

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns striker Anthony Laffor says he won't consider a loan move away from Chloorkop despite having fallen down the pecking order at the club.

Laffor has been sidelined since March after undergoing knee surgery. But even so the Liberian international made just nine league appearances for the Brazilians last season, being forced to play second fiddle to the likes of Gaston Sirino, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Themba Zwane and Tiyani Mabunda.

The signing of Uruguayan striker Mauricio Affonso appears to have made Laffor's chances of getting back to being a first-team regular even slimmer, but the 34-year-old insists he will not leave the club and wants to stay and push for a starting berth.

When asked if he would consider going out on loan, Laffor responded: "Me? No, I don’t think about a loan. I'm Anthony Laffor, If you don’t want me, you sell me.

"You don't loan me. Why should I leave Sundowns to go on loan? I don’t pay attention to loans. I work hard for my place at Sundowns. I don’t ask coaches to play me because of favour. Before I play I have to work. If I don’t work, then I’ll sit on the bench," Laffor added.

"For me I think it’s easy because you just need to adapt and listen to what the coaches want you to do and stay humble and respect the guy who is playing. If you are not playing, stop moaning. You just have to be supportive."
