Benni is Pirates' best since 2006/07 in conversion rate

Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates striker Benni McCarthy has the best goals to games conversion rate for the club since the 2006/07 season.

McCarthy, who played for the Sea Robbers from 2011 to 2013 with great success, managed 10 strikes in his debut season and finished with a conversion ratio of 0.42 goals per match.

Currently, Pirates' leading scorers are Justin Shonga, Thembinkosi Lorch and Vincent Pule who have managed six strikes each this season.

Nonetheless, their goals per game ratio is far less than some other notable forwards at the club since the 2006/07 season.

In Kermit Erasmus' second season at Bucs he scored 10 goals in 26 games for a ratio of 0.38 goals per match.

Ahead of him is former No 9 and current Highlands Park striker Tendai Ndoro - in 2016/17 he managed 12 goals in 30 league appearances for a 0.40 goals per game average.

As such, McCarthy, who is Bafana Bafana's all-time record scorer and is the current Cape Town City coach, remains Pirates' most deadly forward in over a decade when it comes to a goals per game average.
