Bloemfontein Celtic deny reports club is up for sale

Bloemfontein Celtic have responded to claims that the Premier Soccer League club is set to be sold to the owners of TS Galaxy, moved to Mpumalanga and be renamed.

Phunya Sele Sele have moved to reassure fans that no sale is forthcoming for the massively popular club.

TS Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi had earlier told Kickoff: "The team will definitely relocate but that won't mean we will abandon the supporters in Bloemfontein."

A statement on the official Bloemfontein Celtic Twitter account from club owner Max Tshabalala read: "There are currently rumours that the club has been sold and that has caused panic to our players, staff, supporters and sponsors.

"All the news and articles about the club being for sale is fake news.

"There are no offers to sell the club and the club is not sold.

"We urge people not to believe anything they see nor hear from the media concerning the sale of the club.

"The club is in the process of securing a sponsorship deal and all that has been said, slows down our progress of securing the deal.

"We accept that there had been enquiries concerning the sale of the club from different stakeholders but nothing concrete was achieved."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
