Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have recalled defender Lorenzo Gordinho seven months into his loan spell at Bloemfontein Celtic.
Gordinho faced heavy competition in the Amakhosi defence last season under Steve Komphela and was loaned out to Phunya Sele Sele.
However, it appears that new Amakhosi coach Giovanni Solinas has plans for the 24-year-old, with Chiefs also citing instability at his loan club as a reason for sending a letter to Celtic requesting his services again.
"We want him back now because the coach sees potential in him, he can do with his services," team manager Bobby Motaung told SowetanLIVE website.
He added: "The player is also unhappy, and he's told us that. There's instability there (at Celtic).
"He's supposed to get a salary from Celtic as per the loan agreement, but when it doesn't happen, it reflects badly on us because he has a contract with us."
Motaung said Amakhosi would give Celtic, now coached by Komphela, until 31 August to release the centre-back.
Gordinho would likely strengthen a leaky Chiefs defence that has conceded 5 goals in 3 league games highlighted by the error-prone Daniel Cardoso who has had a bad start to the 2018/2019 campaign.
Meanwhile, the Soweto giants are up against Maritzburg United on Friday evening in an Absa Premiership clash.
Kick-off is at 20:00.
