Gabuza: Matsatsantsa's style of play suits me more than Pirates

Cape Town - SuperSport United striker Thamsanqa Gabuza feels the system and style of play at his new club suits him more than when he was at Orlando Pirates.

Gabuza made the switch from the Buccaneers to the Tshwane club before the start of this season and hit his first goals for Matsatsantsa as he bagged a brace in a 3-0 win over Wits in the MTN 8 clash on Sunday.

The 32-year-old was happy to be on the scoresheet as the last time he found the back of the net was in Pirates' 2-1 win over Free State Stars in May 2018.

Gabuza said in quotes published in the Sowetan: "I am happy with the way SuperSport plays and it suits my strength.

"The system here will allow me to score goals because I am in the box.

"There is a lot of differences because Pirates play a lot of short passes and here it's not like that, we play diagonal balls.

"Most of my goals from the national team [Bafana Bafana], Golden Arrows and Pirates have been headers.

"That is what I am used to and as a striker I must always be in the box to finish."

Even though he is happy with the start he has made at his new club, Gabuza says he still needs time adjust to his new surroundings.

"It's because I am at a new home. If I don't score I must at least create," the striker added.

"But it is only my first season, so I need more time."
