Gordinho: I won't accept defeat against Chiefs

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic defender Lorenzo Gordinho is determined to beat his parent club Kaizer Chiefs when the two sides lock horns on Saturday night.

The 23-year-old centre-back joined Celtic on loan from the Amakhosi in January, in a deal that saw Kabelo Mahlasela sign for Chiefs, and Gordinho is relishing the chance to get one over his former team-mates.

"I'm excited and the guys are too," Gordinho told KickOff.

"Well we're going to start working for the weekend, preparing for a game I'm looking forward to.

"I am looking forward to the Chiefs game... coming up against my former team-mates, I don't know how you say it? Coming up against team-mates, friends (laughs). It's going to be a big game. I definitely want a win, I won't accept a loss."

He added: "Chiefs is on form and we need to get back to our good run of results. So there is no better game to spur you on to keep that momentum than to play against Chiefs.

"We plan to use the occasion and the game of this weekend to boost our performances and try to get a good result."

Chiefs are unbeaten in their last nine games across all competitions, while Celtic have not won a league game in their last five fixtures.

Kick-off is at 20:15.
