Katsande: Playing for Chiefs comes with pressure

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande admitted that Amakhosi players are feeling the pressure after a difficult start to the new season.

Chiefs were on Friday held to a goalless draw by 10-man Maritzburg United and are without a win from their four opening matches under Giovanni Solinas in the Premiership.

The Soweto giants' only win since the appointment of the Italian mentor came in the MTN8 quarterfinal against Free State Stars.

Katsande revealed that the pressure is even bigger on the senior players as they are expected to perform well week in and week out.

Katsande told SuperSport: "Obviously life is about pressure. Whenever Chiefs gives you a contract you should embrace that challenge.

"To deal with a big brand like that of Chiefs, one has to be strong; you need to be mentally and physically strong to deal with any criticism.

"Us as senior players, obviously our heads will be on the block, but we embrace the challenge and keep on marching on."
