Komphela wants more hunger from his men

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela is looking for greater hunger and commitment from his charges as they prepare for their clash with Bidvest Wits next week.

The match against the newly-crowned league champions is one of eight games on Saturday, May 27 the final round of league action this season.

The Soweto side will head into the encounter against the Clever Boys on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Platinum Stars, a game in which Komphela felt his players did not show the required levels of intensity.

"I am disappointed to say the least. We didn't play at all; especially in the first-half we were lethargic," he was quoted saying on the Chiefs website.

"This is not on. We only started playing after conceding the goal. And, look at their goals. Once again we let ourselves down by lapses of concentration in the box. We didn't show the hunger to win this match.

"Stars deserved this win. They showed hunger and they didn't allow us space to play - credit to them. As for us, it is back to the drawing board to rectify this situation," he added.

Victory for Chiefs could potentially lift them to fourth spot, if SuperSport fail to beat Platinum Stars.

Kick off is at 15:00.
