Leopards saved by Musonda again

Cape Town - Black Leopards stayed within touching distance of Golden Arrows, following their 1-1 draw in the Absa Premiership on Saturday night.

Leopards, who are turning their Thohoyandou Stadium into somewhat of a fortress these days, survived a serious scare after trailing their KwaZulu-Natal visitors for more than 30 minutes in the second stanza.

However, Mwape Musonda - who has encountered a purple patch in recent weeks - wasn't going to sit by and allow the club's 2019 progress to be derailed within the space of a week.

He equalised for the home team in the 86th minute, after Arrows established the lead through the boot of Lerato Lamola.

Following the stalemate, Arrows consolidated their place among the top ten in the Absa Premiership standings, having accumulated 21 points this season. Black Leopards are just one point - and one position - behind them.

Leopards, under the tutelage of Dylan Kerr, have not been defeated in 2019. Meanwhile, since Steve Komphela took over at the helm, Arrows have failed to gather the momentum that had been envisaged for the club.
