Hello and welcome to our live coverage of South African football's most eagerly anticipated fixture. The whole country will come to a stop as Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs face off at FNB Stadium.

The headline news from those teamsheets is that Leonardo Castro starts despite a prediction from Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena that he would not.

Referee Eketsang Setloboko leads the teams out of the tunnel and the teams see out the pre-match handshakes. There's plenty of respect between these sides, but no love lost.

A moment of silence is held for artist HHP and the people who died in the Polokwane road accident.

KICK-OFF! Orlando Pirates get the match underway at FNB Stadium. They're technically the home team today, but there are plenty of yellow shirts in the crowd.
2'
Pirates have started on the front foot, which is perhaps somewhat unsurprising, as they are the in-form team out of these two at the moment. The Buccaneers headed into this match in second place on the table, with Chiefs in third.
6'
Pirates are still doing most of the early attacking, but it's been a cagey start to the derby, as is often the case.
9'
Pule cuts inside from the left and decides to have a crack with his weaker foot. He's given space to shoot by Kaizer Chiefs, but miscues his effort and fires well wide of the target.
10'
Replays suggest that Happy Jele was perhaps a bit lucky to get away with a penalty appeal from Khama Billiat after clipping him. However, there wasn't much of an appeal from Kaizer Chiefs.
13'
Danger for Orlando Pirates: a magnificent ball is played over the top by Parker for Billiat, who races after it, but is beaten to it by Mpontshane.
15'
GOAL, CHIEFS, BILLIAT! 0-1: There's the breakthrough! Chiefs have been knocking on the door for a good few minutes and they're rewarded as Mpontshane spills a cross from Walusimbi on the left, allowing Billiat to tap in!
19'
Milutin Sredojevic and Rhulani Mokwena both look worried at the moment -- and who could blame them? So much is riding on this fixture -- particularly after Mokwena's pre-game comments.
20'
Pirates look for a response, attacking down their right, but Lorch's cross in is a really poor one. Chiefs restart play with a throw-in.
24'
Khune goes short from a goal-kick and Pirates snatch the ball off Chiefs in a promising position. However, Mulenga gives it away with a poor touch and then fouls Parker.
25'
PENALTY, ORLANDO PIRATES! Mulenga is brought down in the area by Ngezana and Setloboko points to the spot!
27'
SAVE! Shonga goes low and to Khune's right after waiting some time before taking the spot-kick. Khune gets down and makes a fantastic save!
29'
GOAL, PIRATES, MAELA! 1-1: There's the equaliser! Shonga makes amends to some extent, delivering the corner from Pirates' right which is headed home by Maela for the goal!
31'
Pirates have their tails up now. Pule goes for goal from long range, but his effort goes straight down Khune's throat.
32'
GOAL, PIRATES, PULE! 2-1: Yet another twist! Great passing in the build-up from Pirates. A poor clearance from Chiefs allows Shonga to play a clever ball through to Mulenga, who squares for Pule to tap in!
35'
Mulenga goes for goal from long range, firing over the target. Pirates looked a little bit nervous to pull the trigger early on, but not anymore!
36'
At the other end, Parker lets fly from long range, but misses the target too.
37'
Shonga nearly gets through on goal, but is halted by a last-ditch tackle from Ngezana. Brilliant work from the Chiefs defender.
40'
After some more clever passing from Pirates, Motshwari is teed up to shoot from just outside the box, but fails to get his effort on target.
42'
Walusimbi gets forward again for Chiefs. This time, he decides to go for goal himself, but he's off balance as he pulls the trigger and he misses the target.
43'
A questionable offside call halts a Pirates attack in its tracks. It looked like Mulenga who was flagged.
45'
After a lovely bit of skill, Shonga tees Motshwari up for another long-range shot, but he fires over the target
451'
We're into two minutes of stoppage time at the end of what has been a thrilling first half.
452'
Ngezana is having a hard time against Shonga and Mulenga. He puts in a nasty challenge on the latter, lunging in from behind just outside the penalty area and picking up a yellow card.
454'
HALF-TIME: ORLANDO PIRATES 2-1 KAIZER CHIEFS. The Buccaneers go into the break in front, despite having conceded first. After Billiat's opener and Shonga's saved penalty, Maela equalised before Pule made it 2-1. All is still to play for.
46'
Back underway at FNB Stadium. Kaizer Chiefs were overrun in the first half and will be looking to get on the front foot straightaway in this one. Both teams have looked vulnerable at the back.
49'
Amakhosi will be relatively happy with their start to the second half. They are putting pressure on the Buccaneers, but they need to be clinical. Perhaps Pirates themselves weren't always ruthless enough in front of goal in the first half.
51'
Pirates attack down the right now, but Mobara's cross from the right goes behind for a goal-kick.
52'
Mpontshane is called into action once again. Zuma is given space to shoot and lets fly from long range. His effort bounces awkwardly for Mpontshane, who tips behind for a corner. Pirates manage to deal with that.
53'
At the other end, Pule cuts inside from the right and tries to curl the ball past Khune and into the top corner of the net. However, his effort goes wide of the target.
47'
CHANCE! Castro is presented with the first opportunity of the second half, but his shot is too tame and it's saved by Mpontshane.
57'
Pule is causing all sorts of problems for the Amakhosi defence out wide. He's such an alert player.
58'
CHANCE! Parker plays a wonderful ball to Mphahlele, who cuts back from just inside the byline for Billiat, but he is just unable to get his feet right. His effort is blocked by Jele and then ultimately goes back off the Zimbabwean for a goal-kick.
60'
MISS! And what a miss at that! Khune fails to punch away Mulenga's cross and there's a mix-up between him and Mphahlele. With the goal at his mercy, Shonga then fires over the target!
61'
Orlando Pirates fans were calling for Shonga to be taken off after that miss, and he has been substituted indeed. Mntambo is on in his place. In fairness to Shonga, he was key in creating both Pirates goals.
64'
Ekstein comes on in place of Parker for Kaizer Chiefs. Parker was a key creative influence for Amakhosi and it will be interesting to see whether or not Ekstein can top his performance.
67'
Zuma is down and receiving treatment. Solinas uses the opportunity to have a conversation with Billiat and Castro.
70'
Tempers are beginning to flare a little bit, with Mobara down following a bit of a tangle with Walusimbi. I'm no lip reading expert, but I suspect Pirates are accusing Walusimbi of a stamp and Chiefs feel Mobara is wasting time.
72'
Booysen picks up a yellow card for a poor challenge on Mulenga just outside the penalty area.
73'
Pule goes for goal from the ensuing free-kick, but skies it. No problem for Khune there. It's probably worth mentioning that Walusimbi has picked up a yellow card for what was deemed a stamp on Mobara. Harsh decision in my opinion.
74'
Moon comes on for Chiefs in place of Castro, who didn't put in the sort of performance he would have hoped to in order to silence his former Mamelodi Sundowns colleague, Rhulani Mokwena.
77'
There's a bit of a mix-up at the back from Pirates, but Chiefs are unable to pull the trigger quickly enough. Zuma takes a heavy touch and the Sea Robbers clear.
78'
Billiat floats a dangerous cross in from the left. There's nobody there to capitalise, but it nearly creeps in at the far post. Interestingly, Billiat will play no further part in this game. Solinas brings Mahlasela on in his place.
80'
Mako comes on for Pirates in place of Pule, who put in a magnificent shift.
82'
Ntshangase's free-kick delivery from the left is a dangerous one. Mpontshane tries to punch and misses the ball completely. Chiefs are unable to capitalise.
86'
The clock ticks down at FNB Stadium and Orlando Pirates look fairly comfortable at the moment. That being said, we've seen in this game already that the Soweto derby can turn at any given moment.
88'
Makola is set to come on for Pirates in place of Mlambo. Meanwhile, Mulenga is down and in no hurry to get up. It's not surprising to see this at this late stage of the game.
89'
Here we go -- Makola comes on at last, with Mlambo making way as expected.
901'
We're into five minutes of stoppage time at the end of this match. There's still plenty of time for a late twist, but the way this game is going at the moment, it's looking unlikely.
904'
Orlando Pirates fans eagerly anticipate the final whistle at FNB Stadium. There's a fantastic buzz in the crowd.
905'
Mulenga cuts inside and tees Motshwari up for another shot. Once again, he fires too high.
906'
FULL-TIME: ORLANDO PIRATES 2-1 KAIZER CHIEFS. Yet again, the Buccaneers have won the Soweto derby. There are scenes of jubilation inside FNB Stadium, as well as despair from those in Chiefs colours. Pirates go one point off the top of the league.
