Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lebohang Maboe believes Pitso Mosimane deserves credit for the good form he is showing for the Brazilians in 2018/19.
Since joining Sundowns ahead of the current campaign from Maritzburg United, Maboe has established himself as a starter under Mosimane and has scored two goals in nine Absa Premiership appearances.
He has been rewarded for his form by becoming a regular selection for Bafana Bafana by coach Stuart Baxter.
Nonetheless, the 24-year-old says he is playing with plenty of confidence as his coach at Sundowns encourages him to play with freedom and expression.
He said: "It's the confidence that the coach gives me. He tells me to go out there and express myself and that's what I do.
"I just go out there and express myself and I do whatever it is I want to do with the ball. So, I'd say it's the confidence that the coach gives me.
Regarding his international career, he added: "I just have to be consistent and keep doing what I have been doing and hopefully I will keep my place in the national team. I'd like to make the team that will be in the AFCON next year (in Cameroon)."
Maboe could start for Bafana in Saturday's crucial Africa Cup of Nations Group E qualifier against Nigeria at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
The match gets underway from 15:00.
