Macuphu emerges unscathed from serious car accident

Cape Town - SuperSport United striker Mxolisi Macuphu has emerged largely unscathed from a car accident which wrote off his vehicle on Sunday.

The in-form forward has been banging in the goals for SuperSport United and has managed five goals in six appearances since his loan move from Bidvest Wits.

The 29-year-old is enjoying some of the best form of his career and thankfully it can continue after he survived the serious accident this past weekend.

According to a Kickoff report, Macuphu was involved in the smash while driving home to Vosloorus in Johannesburg.

SuperSport official Coltrane Munyai told the publication: "Yes, it's true. He was involved in a car accident.

"Thank God he only suffered minor injuries."

It appears the FIFA international break has come at an opportune time for the player as he will be able to recover from the incident.

Last week Wits coach Gavin Hunt confirmed that the Joburg-born star would return to the Clever Boys for the 2019/20 campaign.
