Manyisa convinced he has a future at Sundowns

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Oupa Manyisa remains optimistic about his future at the club despite his contract expiring in June.

The 31-year-old has only played twice this campaign before suffering a season-ending injury in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup clash with Kaizer Chiefs in October.

It remains unclear when the industrious midfielder will be able to return to the playing field, but he believes he still has a future with Masandawana and is looking forward to discussing a potential new contract at the end of the season.

"We will start discussing that [contract] at the end of the season, for now, I'm just focusing on my rehab so I can go back and play football," Manyisa said, as quoted by SowetanLive.

Asked if he believed that Sundowns would give him a new deal despite not playing in the league this season, he said: "I'm not going anywhere and I will still be a Sundowns player come next season."

He added: "It was not that difficult, everyone has been great to me they have been supporting me throughout my injury so the coach [Pitso Mosimane] has been good to me and the technical team.

"But the injury is coming alright... I started jogging and we will see when I can be ready. But I won't play anytime soon it could be next season."
