Cape Town - SuperSport United moved up to seventh in the Absa Premiership standings, following their 2-1 victory against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.
Matsatsantsa recorded their first victory of 2019 - also their first since mid-December. The last time SuperSport United collected maximum points in the Absa Premiership was against Maritzburg United a week before the Christmas break.
To the contrary, Celtic recorded their first defeat of the new year, which also saw them slip to eighth in the league standings - one point behind SuperSport United.
Bradley Grobler, who had endured considerable adversity in the past 18 months, found the back of the net for the first time this season - in his fifth appearance of the campaign.
Teboho Mokoena scored his second goal of the season - and the second goal of the match on Sunday.
Maphosa Modiba was directly involved in both goals. For the second, Modiba laid a good delivery to Mokoena, who released a long range effort to the far post. Patrick Tignyemb had no chance.
The first assist - to Grobler - was a touch more accidental but just as effective. Modiba actually mistimed his delivery into the box.
Grobler, being the poacher that he is, was ready to pounce and converted the opportunity with considerable aplomb.
