Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has called on the club's supporters to come out in force for Saturday's CAF Confederations Cup playoff second leg against Zesco United.
Chiefs lost the first leg 3-1 in Zambia though Middendorp believes the Glamour Boys can bounce back in the second leg at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
Amakhosi go into the contest full of confidence having seen off AmaZulu 3-2 in a Premiership clash on Wednesday.
An own goal by Marc van Heerden, a second by Bernard Parker and a third from Willard Katsande secured the points at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.
As such, the German believes the win can spur Chiefs on against Zesco. He told SuperSportTV: "Make it 4-1 or 5-1 we had the possibility not to make it so dramatic in the end. It's a huge compliment [the way we played].
"In one week, a huge competitive game with high concentration against Bidvest [Wits], then traveling to Zambia against a team with a lot of potential.
"We showed a decent performance unfortunately not brought anything out of it and today against AmaZulu it was very competitive. It's a competitive league, you have to be at your best to get the points.
"This is something in one week that shows the character of the players individually and the team in total. This is why I'm talking, hopefully with the support [of fans] and they come in numbers on Saturday evening. I'm quite confident that with this behavior, with this character we can make it on Saturday. That's our focus now.
"We took it a little bit easy, 1-0. In the first half, we had four chances [or so] where we had three v one [situations] and we were not capable [to score]. That has to do with concentration. With all this traveling and playing games, nothing wrong with it, it happens.
"We took it a gear up after 1-1. That's the quality of a Bernard Parker for example, who hasn't played a lot and he came in to do the job in a fantastic way. I think compliment to each and everybody."
