Mosimane hails 'brotherhood' mentality at Sundowns

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has hailed the 'pure brotherhood' in the Brazilians camp embodied by Themba Zwane's unselfish gesture towards Jose Ali Meza.

Zwane's generosity was on display for all to see in the 5-0 thumping of AmaZulu in the Telkom Knockout on Sunday when he teed up Jose Ali Meza for a simple tap-in and his first goal of the season in domestic competitions.

And Mosimane believes Zwane's act is indicative of the healthy team spirit at the back-to-back league champions.

"So generous of Themba Zwane to give to Ali Meza because in the club we have been talking that Meza has been working hard and he needs a goal," Mosimane told KickOff.

"That shows brotherhood from Themba. It's unbelievable. He could have scored that goal. He needed to give him confidence. When you see that from teammates then you know you have a team.

"It's pure brotherhood because Meza has been struggling to score but he gave him [the ball to score]."

The victory over Usuthu sees Masandawana progress to the second round of the competition where they join Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United in the quarter-finals.

Mosimane's men have a tricky week ahead of them with a game against Highlands Park at home on Wednesday before a crucial fixture against top-of-the-table Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
