Nomvethe reveals career highlights

Cape Town - AmaZulu forward Siyabonga Nomvethe has revealed some of the outstanding moments of his career after announcing his retirement at the end of the season.

Nomvethe made his decision known to retire from the professional game at a press conference on Friday after three-and-a-half years with Usuthu.

The former Bafana Bafana star joined the side in 2015/16 after a spell with Moroka Swallows, before the Dube Birds relegation to the National First Division.

Speaking of his career highlights, Nomvete told KickOff website: "I played against Fabio Cannavaro and the first Ronaldo (the Brazilian). I played against him and Ronaldinho at the Olympics (Sydney 2000).

"I didn't expect I'd arrive in the top divisions but because of the love and also the football talent that I had this was a gift.

"It also made me happy that I was able to see plenty of the best players I played with at the World Cups, in the UEFA cup competitions."
