Onyango refuses to rule out European move

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango is refusing to rule out a possible move to Europe in the future despite his advancing years as a footballer.

Onyango helped Sundowns win the CAF Champions League and was an important part in helping Uganda to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament for the first time in 39 years.

"Yes, West Africans can get a chance because of the language - they go to France and Belgium, and it is easy for them to adapt," the 31-year-old told KickOff website.

"That's also why you don't see many West African goalkeepers in the PSL because it's easier for them to go to the lower leagues in Europe.

"Will the move come, at 33 or 34? I don't know, but maybe if I continue to look after myself and continue for many more years it might."

Meanwhile, the 'keeper has his focus on the Absa Premiership as Sundowns have catching up to do as they have two games in hand.

The Brazilians next face Ajax Cape Town on Tuesday, April 25 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Kick off is at 19:30.
