Paulse: Mobara must wait for his chance

Cape Town - Former Ajax Cape Town striker Nathan Paulse has urged Abbubaker Mobara to wait for his chance at Orlando Pirates after losing his place in the starting line-up this season.

Paulse said the fact that Mobara was appointed the club's vice-captain ahead of the campaign proves he is a valuable member of the squad and will soon be back playing regularly.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Soweto giants in a big move from Ajax Cape Town in 2016, has featured in only 13 of Pirates games in all competitions this season.

"I do not think his form dropped because the last time I saw him playing he did very well," the former Urban Warriors striker told Vodacom Soccer.

"I know he had recently come back from injury and if you recall Pirates went unbeaten for about six games up until they were lost to Cape Town City in the cup.

"So, when a team is on form and winning streak, very few coaches can change a winning team. There could be that the coach has kept faith with the same guys because they are doing well.

"But, look, I know he is a quality player and if he was given the armband after just a short time at a huge club like Pirates, it means he is a quality player."

Paulse said any player can go through a rough patch and is adamant that his former team-mate will find his way back into Micho's side.

"You know what, that can happen to any player, but I do not think it's the reason why he is not playing," the 35-year-old added.

"He is a quality player and will find his way back into the team. I think the obvious thing is for him to wait for his opportunity and take it with his both hands."
