Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane confirmed that out of favour Thela Ngobeni will depart Chloorkop when his contract expires at the end of June.
Ngobeni has spent six frustrating years with Sundowns during which time he has failed to establish himself in the first team behind the likes of Denis Onyango and Kennedy Mweene.
The 30-year-old did enjoy successful loan spells with Free State Stars where he famously won the Nedbank Cup at the back end of the 2017/18 campaign.
However, it appears the writing was always on the wall for the talented keeper as he was fourth choice with the Brazilians behind Onyango, Mweene and Reyaad Pieterse.
He said: "I want a younger goalkeeper. We are killing Thela's career because he really needs to play. And he is not going to play ahead of Kennedy (Mweene) in the CAF Champions League.
"He did well at Free State, but we will let him go now. He should go play, if we regret it's okay. It will be one of those.
"There is no coach who will ever say he has no regrets. We have all signed players before and realised it didn't work out."
Reports have suggested that Kaizer Chiefs, Highlands Park and Stellenbosch FC are all interested in securing his services ahead of the 2019/20 season.
