Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says finding players to improve his squad is difficult as he has so much quality at his disposal.
Sundowns are expected to ring the changes ahead of 2019/20 with a number of under-performing stars expected to be moved on whereas they have already signed Uruguayan striker Mauricio Affonso.
Nonetheless, Mosimane takes the view that squad improvement is a challenge as top players are hard to find. He even went as far to say that to replace creative talisman Gaston Sirino, you would need to look in Spain's La Liga.
Speaking to reporters, he said: "I hear you guys wanted new signings and we disappointed you, even last year.
"The challenge is we need to sign players better than what we have, players that will give something different to what we have. We need a player that will take Themba Zwane out, a player to take Gaston Sirino out, a player to take Lebo [Maboe] out.
"Lebo was a top player last season. [Anthony] Laffor is coming back from injury. If you sign a player, he must be a player better than that. If you don't do it, then you duplicate.
"It's very difficult to find those players. When you want a player better than that, it means it's going to cost you a lot of money. Good players are expensive. By the way, a player better than Sirino is in La Liga."
