REVEALED: How Pirates' finishing coach prepares Bucs forwards

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates striker Justin Shonga says finishing coach Stephane Adam analyses opposition defenders and then teaches them how to exploit weak points in their game.

Since Adam's arrival Pirates have been amongst the leading scorers in the Premiership and they recently put three past Horoya FC in a CAF Champions League Group B encounter.

Shonga was amongst the goals against the Guinean outfit as he bagged a brace whereas Thembinkosi Lorch got the opening strike at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg last Friday.

Speaking to reporters, the Zambia star gave credit to the French coach for the work he is doing: "Since the arrival of the finishing coach, Stephane Adam, we've improved a lot from last season.

"He is a good coach. He has played football before. He knows football, and he gives us the right training at the right time.

The forward, who has seven goals to his name in all competitions, also explained how the 49-year-old goes about his business, concluding: "Before he trains us, he analyses the defenders that we are going to be playing against.

"He then takes us to the training pitch and gives us hints on their movements and everything in terms of the finishing, and how calm we need to be when we're in the box.

"I think that it's paying off for us. We're more composed in every chance that we get, and we're growing in confidence."

The Sea Robbers are next in action on Tuesday night in the Premiership against Baroka at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
