Solinas to fine-tune Chiefs over FIFA break

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas is looking to utilise the upcoming FIFA break at the beginning of September in order to do some work on the training ground.

The 50-year-old, who has been complaining about fixture congestion in August, is planning on specifically working on finishing - an area of Amakhosi's game which was lacking during their 0-0 draw with Maritzburg United.

"We will use the FIFA break to improve. August has been congested. We will focus on fixing our mistakes and work on our finishing," Solinas was quoted as saying by The Citizen.

"We have good build-up play and get near the opposition box easily. We have to improve our finishing and I am confident that if we get a chance to work on it, we can get it right."

Amakhosi have picked up just three points in their first four Premiership fixtures under Solinas, although they did manage a 3-0 victory over Free State Stars in the MTN8 quarter-finals.

However, Solinas now has a full week to work with his players before they face SuperSport United in the semi-final first-leg on Sunday.
