Sundowns the best team in the country, says Manyama

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns are the best team in the country, according to Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebogang Manyama.

Manyama was speaking after the second edition of the Shell Helix Ultra Cup was launched that will see Chiefs and Sundowns meet on Saturday, 12 October at the FNB Stadium.

The 29-year-old wants Amakhosi to emulate the Brazilians consistency within the league and CAF Champions League.

Manyama said in quotes published by KickOff: "We can never ignore the fact that Sundowns are arguably, not one of, but they are, the best team in the country at this moment and they've shown that even on the continent.

"I think it will be good for us to test ourselves against Sundowns, and we know when we play against them it has to be an open game because they're forever attacking.

"So, we have to see where we are at and I think Sundowns is a good opponent at this point in time."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
