Cape Town - Ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup final against TP Mazembe, SuperSport United utility player Aubrey Modiba says he's feeling confident in front of goal.
Modiba has played up front for the national U20 side, but has been used at club level as a left-back.
However, in recent matches Modiba has been handed a more advanced role by coach Eric Tinkler and has responded positively by netting three goals in his last two outings for SuperSport.
"Lately, I have been playing as a winger and I am enjoying it," Modiba told the Sowetan.
"It gives me more space and I can also be in the pocket. I like attacking a lot but I also have to do my defensive duties as well. Wherever the coach puts me, I will play and produce my level best," he said.
With the 22-year-old in such sparkling form and full of confidence, he could be a potential match-winner when Matsatsantsa meet TP Mazembe in the two-legged Confederation Cup final (away in Lubumbashi on November 17, and at home on November 25).
"It is a great feeling to be on the score sheet. I make sure that I am always in the [opponents'] box, even in training I always work on my finishing. If I can keep on believing, I think I can score a lot of goals this season.
"The preparations are on track. We will be training on an artificial turf because we must get used to it.
"We are focused on the final and the spirit is high in camp," Modiba added.
Kick off is at 14:30.
