Cape Town - Nhlanhla Vilakazi says he remains focused on helping Free State Stars end the season on a high despite signing a pre-contract to quit Ea Lla Koto for AmaZulu.
Vilakazi will at the end of the season leave Stars to start a new chapter of his career with AmaZulu having penned a pre-contract with the KZN side.
He had spells with Ajax Cape Town and Maritzburg United before joining Stars.
However, Stars coach Luc Eymael last week praised the midfielder for his continued commitment to Ea LLa Koto, though confirming he will be leaving the team for Usuthu at the end of the campaign.
That has led to the Belgian handing the midfielder the captain's armband in the absence of skipper Paulus Masehe.
Quizzed about the pre-contract with Amazulu, the 31-year old said he is fully focused on helping the Free State-based side do well in the Nedbank Cup and also end the season in a respectable position.
Vilakazi told the SABC: "I prefer to focus on Stars for now, that I will see next season because I’m a Stars player.
"My concentration is fully on Stars. We have got the Nedbank Cup semi-final coming up.
"I have to focus, I am focused. My focus is still with the club because I’m still a Stars player."
