Greenpoint - Cape Town City captain Robyn Johannes is eager to claim three-points against Ajax Cape Town when the two arch-rivals meet in an Absa Premiership clash on Saturday afternoon.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
The Ikapa Derby is scheduled to take place at Cape Town Stadium with a lot at stake for both Mother City clubs.
City are currently third (27-points) on the log standings and have battled throughout the 2017/18 campaign to keep up with log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
At the other end of the PSL table, Ajax are occupying 13th position and desperately need a victory as they have accumulated only 16-points - one point more than AmaZulu (14th), Wits (15th) and Platinum Stars (16th).
"We will have to bring our A-game," said Johannes at a press conference ahead of the fixture.
"In games like this, we don’t need any motivation. We want to keep Cape Town blue (City colours) as we always do.
"Then again, (we’re) expecting a difficult match. Our previous result is not what we really wanted (1-0 to Free State Stars) but we always have the bounce back factor.
"There’s no better way than doing that in a derby. So, looking forward to an exciting match on Saturday."
The return of Muhsin Ertugral as the Urban Warriors' head coach has given the Ikamva side a much need rejuvenation for the last stretch of the season.
Johannes has been keeping tabs on City since Ertugral’s arrival and believes Ajax are already looking a much better outfit than earlier in the season.
"Muhsin has been around for ages. I watched a couple of their games already and you can see they have better structure," Johannes continued.
"They have a lot of new players as well, so we’re expecting a totally different Ajax. But we are not focussed on them at all, we’re focussed on ourselves and the job that we can do."
Meanwhile, Johannes is bidding farewell to the Mother City as he accepted a deal to join Wits at the end of the season.
The defender refused to talk about his move and insist that possibility of playing in his last Ikapa derby will be special only if City claim bragging rights.
"The chairman understands the situation and we had a long chat about it, but I am fully committed to the club, as I was from the first match I played," Johannes said.
"Derby games are special - not just Ajax against Cape Town City - our family and friends are all in the stands and those are the people we really want to please or have bragging rights about the game at the end of the day."
