Solinas: We will prepare very well for Leopards

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas is eager to deliver a trophy and appease fan demands at the upcoming Telkom Knockout tournament.

Amakhosi have been drawn against Black Leopards for the first round, which will take place over the weekend of 20/21 October.

The Glamour Boys have gone without a trophy since 2015, when Stuart Baxter led them to Absa Premiership glory. As the most widely supported club in South Africa, Solinas knows Chiefs need to acquire silverware to satisfy their fans.

"We will try our best to do well and win the trophy. We have to do it for the fans, to quench the long trophy thirst at Naturena. I'm positive we will do well," said the Italian on the Telkom Knockout, according to IOL website.

"We will prepare very well for Black Leopards and will not take them lightly at all."

The last time Chiefs faced Lidoda Duvha, they were on the receiving end of an upset in the 2015 Nedbank Cup last 16 at FNB Stadium.

The same venue will stage the clash between the Premiership's third and 12th-placed teams within the next fortnight.
