Cape Town - Kevin Anderson took to Twitter to express his joy in reaching No 9 in the latest ATP tour rankings after his win in New York over the weekend.
Anderson won the fourth ATP title of his career at the New York Open with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7/1) win over American Sam Querrey in a closely fought contest that lasted 2 hours and 13 minutes.
It was the big serving South African's first win in a final after losing 11 in a row.
And Anderson expressed his joy on social media after the updated ATP rankings were announced on Monday.
'Incredible feeling to reach a new career-high ranking. #9,' wrote a proud Anderson.
He also took time to thank his support staff and fans for their support during his run at the tournament.
