SIDE ENTRY

The news that the Professional Rugby Organisation was considering having the United Rugby Championship (URC) final in South Africa in June to boost awareness of the competition in these parts predictably – if not rightly – got the folks up north all het up.

Of the many indignant arguments made against the move – before the URC dispensed with experimentation and went with the logic of the top-ranked team in the final getting home advantage – was that, what if the decider was made up of teams that were not South African?
