Busy Bee Rugby Football Club will look to move into the top six when they visit fourth placed Eersterivier in the Super League C match on Saturday 27 April.

The Langa team is currently in eighth position on the 15-team log, with just a point from their two games.

In the opening week, Busy Bee lost to neighbours Blue Jet by 20 -10, followed by another 18 - 17 defeat to Young Peoples.

There will be no room for error this weekend as they look to fix the wrongs from their previous two matches. The stakes will be even higher as they battle the inform Eesterivier who have five points from a solitary game.

Msutu Kewana, director of rugby for the Busy Bee RFC, is under no illusion of the task ahead and is adamant of turning the tide of defeats. The club will be welcoming back some experienced players who suffered injuries during the Easter Tournament. “We are ready to fight, we hope to get a spot in the top six,” he tells City Vision. “We treat each game as it comes. There is still a long way to go.”

Kewana praised their fringe players for their dedication and commitment in the last two matches, particularly against Young Peoples in Paarl.

“They played well, but lacked the experience. We are looking forward to welcoming back some of our experienced guys in crucial positions.

Meanwhile, Blue Jet will have their work cut out when they square up against log leaders Pniel Villagers at the Khayelitsha Rugby Stadium.

Villagers are on top of the log with 10 points, while Blue Jet is in third spot with eight points. If they win this encounter Blue Jet would move to the top of the log, as Goodwood, who are second placed will not be playing.

Emotions will be tested every week until the first week of October as the teams battle for positions in the Super League B.

In Super League B, Langa is one of the teams that are still winless. After two matches, the boys from Langa were beaten by Kraaifontein 47-0 on Saturday. This coming Saturday they are at home against Hands and Heart of Kraaifontein.

Langa has two points on the log and is determined to make amends on home turf.

In the Southern League, with two points on the log, Lagunya played two games and lost both.

They travel to Klapmuts for the fixture against Blue Stars. Primrose pays Northerns in Elsies River a visit, while Young Stars will be in action against Watsonia at Green Point Track. In another fixture, Young Wesleys from Philippi is in action against Retreat at home.

In the City League, Western Zebres lost against Elsies River in Langa and their next fixture is against Manenberg-Rangers at Langa Stadium. Caledonian Roses take on Silvertree at Noll Street, while Elsies River is the host of Police.
