While watching Rafael Nadal's epic, five-hour and 24-minute win over Daniil Medvedev in the Australian Open final, one could be forgiven for thinking twice which player was the young gun.

For all his proclaimed physical discomforts, 35-year-old Nadal looked more like the 25 years of his opponent as the match wore on.

The Spaniard had entered the tournament with uncertainty, having been out of the game for six months with a damaging foot injury.
