Cape Town - Farhaan Behardien recorded his ninth career century before the Cape Cobras hit back later on day two of their Sunfoil Series encounter against the Titans at Boland Park in Paarl on Friday.

The match reached the halfway stage evenly poised after the visitors' 435 for nine declared was met with 124 for none by the hosts, who still trailed by 311 but with all 10 wickets in hand on a track that looks difficult for bowling.

Andrea Agathangelou had already scored his maiden franchise century on day one of the round nine encounter and when the Titans resumed on 280 for six on the second morning, Behardien moved his overnight 56 not out to 129 (207 balls, 11 fours, 1 six).

There were also strong contributions from the tail, with Eldred Hawken scoring his maiden competition half-century - the fast bowler hitting 52 (101 balls, 6 fours) - with Shaun von Berg (42) and Malusi Siboto (27 not out) also chipping in.

Dane Paterson was the pick of the bowlers with three for 100.

Andrew Puttick and Pieter Malan were solid in reply as the Cobras faced 52 overs without losing any wickets.

Veteran left-hander Puttick went to stumps unbeaten on 71 (166 balls, 8 fours) and right-hander Malan was with him on 49.
