Western Province strengthened their grip on the Four-Day Series final against the Lions on Thursday after posting 312 before reducing the Lions to 10/2 at the close on day two.

Resuming on Thursday at 49/0, WP lost wickets regularly, but were always able to find a way to score runs on a Wanderers surface that quickened up.
