South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen came short once again at a major golf championship - this time at the US Open at Torrey Pines on Sunday.
The 2010 Open Championship winner posted an even-par final round to finish 5-under par - one-shot behind winner Jon Rahm from Spain, who won his first major.
Oosthuizen held a two-shot lead with eight holes to play at Torrey Pines on Sunday but pulled the drive into a hazard on the 17th.
He bogeyed the 17th and needed to eagle the last to force a play-off but could not hole out from 69 yards and settled for a birdie.

Oosthuizen, who finished tied fro second at last month's PGA Championship, has now finished runner-up in a major for the sixth time.
The 38-year-old was looking to break South Africa's nine-year major drought and secure his first win on US soil.
However, Oosthuizen instead banked a cool $1 350 000 (R19.2 million) for his solo second finish and moved to 10th on the PGA Tour's FedExCup standings.
Oosthuizen's performance at Torrey Pines also saw him jump up six places to 12th in the world rankings.
A South African golfer had not been inside the Top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings since Branden Grace in 2016.

Meanwhile, out of the nine South Africans who started the tournament, six made the cut for the weekend.
Branden Grace had a stellar final round of 4-under 67 to finish T7 on 1-under par. Grace took home $306 893 (R4.3m) for his efforts.
2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel finished T19 on 2-over to take home $125 363 (R1.7m).
Christiaan Bezuidenout wound up in a tie for 31st on 4-over and took home $71 030 (R1m).
Dylan Frittelli's tied for 46th performance saw him earn $32 351 (R461 685) for his weekend efforts.
Making his major debut, Wilco Nienaber finished tied for 68th and was rewarded with $22 814 (R325 582) for his four days' work.
