Onalenna Khonkhobe may have won his maiden men's Two Oceans Marathon race but it was Gerda Steyn who tore up the asphalt to not only collect another title, but break her own course record in the process.

Steyn cruised to the finish line at the University of Cape Town in a time of 3:26:54, a comfortable two and a half minutes of the second-placed Irvette van Zyl, while Zimbabwe's Loveness Madziva, who was cramping near the end, was third, a full 11 minutes from Steyn.

Steyn, who won her fifth title, bettered her time of 3:29:06 that got her over the line last year.
