If ever two things appeared destined for each other, it is Tristan Leyds and sevens rugby.

Yet it has taken until this week, when he was named in the Blitzboks' squad to play in the Perth leg of the World Sevens Series, for the two to be officially united.

Few names made as much sense in a sevens series squad as his did when the Blitzboks squad was announced.
