Cheetahs, Ulster share spoils in PRO14 thriller

Cape Town - The Cheetahs and Ulster have played to an epic draw in their PRO14 encounter at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Friday evening.

The result ended in a 39-39 draw after the Cheetahs led 17-14 at half-time.

The Cheetahs ran in five tries by Gerhard Olivier, William Small-Smith, Joseph Dweba, Jacques du Toit and Rabs Maxwane.

Flyhalf Tian Schoeman landed three conversions and a penalty and replacement Louis Fouche slotted a conversion and a penalty. 

Meanwhile, the Irish franchise scored five tries through a penalty try, Johnny Stewart, a brace by Dave Shanahan and a 80-minute try by Henry Speight.

Flyhalf Billy Burns slotted two penalties and three conversions - including the all-important final conversion to draw the game.

Earlier in the day, the Free State Cheetahs lost to the Pumas in their Currie Cup encounter.
